I don't know how long it continues to appear there. I clicked on it quickly, deleted the stuck items and once those were gone and the other items sent, the Outbox disappeared again. In that case they are usually saved in the Draft folders for each account, that is if there is a Draft folder for each of the accounts and you have more then one account.

I know that in the old Outlook express there was an Out box But that was for emails that Could Not Be sent at the time you hit the Send Button, like you weren't connected to the internet at that time. But in newer email programs, and for the fact that most everyone is always connected, that out box is MOOT. Maybe you are confusing the Sent Items folder with the Outbox? My 'send' information on my email setup was not correct and i did not realize a problem until i tried to send an email and i received the error message on the sending process.

I needed to just copy the text from the email so i could do something will it and could not get to the email to open it because it was not in the draft folder and there was no outbox folder. The most recent outlook for PC has an outbox, the help menu on the Outlook for MAC describes that the message will be in the outbox until it is sent. So it doesn't make sense that there isn't a way to get it to show.
