Run Firefox 4 on a PowerPC Mac with TenFourFox May 10, 2011 - 6 Comments TenFourFox is an essential web browser for any Mac OS X user that is still using a PowerPC machine. To get Firefox for Mac 10.4.11 you need to download Firefox 3.6.28 for Mac which is the last version of Firefox to support PowerPC (PPC) Macs. Best email softwaire for mac for google. It's always sad to see a much-loved Mac start to feel slow and doddery as time goes on, with longer start-up times and more waiting around for things to load. Best external hard drive for pc. When you see the nippiness of something like the iPad or MacBook Air, it can make you feel as though you want to replace a Mac that should still have plenty of life left in it, really.

Click to expand. The thing is that the OP has MailTo links now taking him to *Safari* - not Mail.app or another mail application. That leads me to think that he's installed GMailTo (or some equivalent) which is a program which tells the Mac that it's a mail program. What GMailTo does is take mailto: links, parse them for the appropriate elements, rewrite it as an http: link and launch that - which should launch his default browser. Assuming he wants to continue to use GMail, he needs to keep GMailTo as his default mail app - but he needs to make sure that FireFox, not Safari is his default web browser. The best way to do that, as you said, is.

Firefox For Mac 10.4.11

I'm running Mac OS X 10.4.11 'Intel,' TenFourFox doesn't help with that. Whenever I load Firefox it tells me to upgrade to 12.0 for security reasons. 12.0 is most definitely not compatible with the version of OS X on my MacBook Pro. Then when I try to register for the forums on this site to address these issue (which they recommend to do on here), I am told I can't sign up because I am running an old version of Firefox. Could that possibly be more annoying considering the reason I'm trying to register in the first place? Anyways, do you have any recommendations or does Forefox just not concern themselves with the affairs of people who can't afford to buy new computers?

Firefox automatically 'upgraded' for me, without asking, and it doesn't run since I have macosX 10.4.11. This is super-annoying. I stayed with Tiger for multiple reasons, even tho this happens to be an intel machine, and that should be my choice whether to install Lion/Leopard or not. Plus I have an old Macbook ppc which won't run the recent os's.
